🌅 Santorini — The romantic island
Santorini (Thira) is the result of a gigantic volcanic eruption 3,600 years ago. The resulting caldera offers breathtaking panoramas from the clifftop villages of Oia and Fira. Oia's sunset is one of the most photographed in the world.
The island draws couples and travellers in search of romance. The cave hotels of Oia and Imerovigli rank among the most beautiful in the world — but also among the most expensive. The black- and red-sand beaches (Perivolos, Kamari, Red Beach) are a curiosity all of their own.

Mykonos is Greece's party capital. Its beach clubs (Paradise Beach, Super Paradise), trendy bars and clubs open until dawn attract a young, festive international crowd. But the island also knows how to charm, with its old port (Chora) and labyrinthine lanes where pelicans wander.
Mykonos's beaches are also very beautiful (Agios Sostis, Elia) but livelier than Santorini's.
